About the position

The Solder Technician position involves providing repair services for electronic circuit boards, primarily for the telecommunications and cable industries. The role requires troubleshooting and repairing at the component level, utilizing soldering techniques and various test equipment to ensure efficient completion of repair orders and projects.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuit boards at the component level.
• Understand electronic circuits and read schematic diagrams to perform troubleshooting and repairs.
• Use test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and volt meters.
• Perform surface mount and thru-hole soldering techniques.
• Handle hard drive devices while adhering to ESD policy standards.
• Maintain satisfactory quality performance levels.
• Keep a clean and organized workstation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven ability to test and troubleshoot various types of electronic circuit boards.
• Experience in board-level and multi-layer board repair of electronics products.
• Experience with Set Top Boxes and Gateways Circuits.
• Experience with voltmeter and oscilloscope.
• Proven track record of experience in soldering with various types of IC packages.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solving ability.
• Desirable knowledge and experience in IPC A-610 & IPC-7711.
• Minimum 2-year Electronics degree, equivalent certification, or equivalent job experience in electronics or technical role.
