About the position

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Engineers for an internship opportunity located at our Mission Systems Sector in Baltimore, MD. This internship is designed for students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in the field of engineering while contributing to innovative projects that have a significant impact on global security. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the Airborne Multifunction Sensors Division, where you will be involved in various engineering tasks that support the development of advanced technologies. The internship will last for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2025, and you will be expected to work full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. This position requires a commitment to learning and contributing to the team, as well as the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, which necessitates U.S. citizenship. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of engineering projects related to airborne multifunction sensors.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze and solve engineering problems.
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of engineering prototypes and systems.
  • Document engineering processes and results for project reporting.
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute ideas for project improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program from an accredited college/university.
  • Must be majoring in or have majored in Computer Engineering or a closely related degree.
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period of time.
