About The Position

The 2nd Shift Process Technician at Hi Tech Mold & Tool, Inc. is responsible for monitoring and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and quality. This full-time position involves setting up molds, starting production jobs, making process adjustments, and maintaining clean work areas. The technician will work closely with supervisors and operators to ensure smooth operations during the production shift.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Process Technician or similar role.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Process Technology or related field.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Set up molds in presses in a neat and orderly manner for production readiness.
• Start up production jobs, verifying product quality visually and submitting to Quality Control for approval.
• Make process adjustments based on quality issues.
• Complete mold set up checklist and sign off on Quality Work Instructions.
• Notify Supervisor of any tooling problems.
• Remove molds and auxiliary equipment from presses at the end of production runs, properly red tagging molds for maintenance.
• Set up all machine controls as per setup sheets, including ejection stroke and temperature settings.
• Coordinate with Supervisor and fill in for Operator breaks as required.
• Maintain clean work areas and organize areas around the press prior to production.
• Write up defective equipment and communicate issues to the Maintenance Department.
• Clean screws and barrels as needed.
