About the position

T. Marzetti Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation, is looking to hire team members for the position of Machine Operator at the Sister Schubert's Horse Cave Campus. This role involves maintaining the packaging machine within acceptable tolerances, ensuring ongoing production to achieve schedule goals, and minimizing raw and packaging material scrap and downtime. The Machine Operator will perform product changeovers and conduct minor adjustments, maintenance, and repairs to equipment as needed. The starting wage for this position is $22.38/hr, with shifts running from 6:45 PM to 5:15 AM, subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Work respectfully with all team members to ensure safety, quality, production, and support of products and goals.
• Practice integrity, respect, accountability, and positive interactions with all team members and visitors.
• Participate in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects, and modification programs as needed.
• Participate in department/shift/team meetings and contribute to improvement/resolutions.
• Maintain the highest standard of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Perform daily inspections of all required PPE and power equipment.
• Complete Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO) and participate in problem solving.
• Lead and promote a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility.
• Complete Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs) and ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
• Set up the machine prior to shift start-up and change packaging materials as needed.
• Record all lot information and ensure finished product quality.
• Maintain standard production quantities/rates and ensure accurate date codes.
• Replenish packaging supplies and communicate mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• Prior machine operating experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation.
• Good math skills.
• Positive attitude and problem-solving mentality.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats.
• Ability to read and interpret written and verbal directions.
• Regular on-time attendance in accordance with company policy.
