About The Position

The Maintenance Technician role at Hoffer Plastics is a critical position responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery used in the production of plastic components. This position involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, contributing to the overall production process in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus completion of an accredited apprentice program, technical school program or college degree in industrial maintenance technology or electrical field.
• 5+ years of experience repairing injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment, specifically Krauss Maffei and Demag presses.
• Ability to work independently with solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose problems and make decisions regarding corrective actions.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Welding skills necessary; machining skills would be a plus.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) to interact with various department personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with specific brands of injection molding presses such as Krauss Maffei and Demag.
• Machining skills.

Responsibilities

• Controls downtime by effectively troubleshooting and diagnosing problems quickly and accurately.
• Fabrics repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Works with tool crib attendant to maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking inventory levels; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Repairs chillers, thermolators, resin driers, loader systems, grinders and tower fans.
• Proactive in keeping a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
