About the position

T. Marzetti Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation, is looking to hire team members for the position of Sanitation - Lead at the Sister Schubert's Horse Cave Campus. This role is crucial for maintaining a clean and sanitized environment in the plant, ensuring that all production machinery and equipment are thoroughly cleaned daily. The Sanitation - Lead will coordinate daily tasks for other Sanitors, provide necessary training, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • All documentation/reporting for the Sanitation department
  • Coordinate & follow Master Sanitize Schedule daily
  • Assign tasks & equipment to Sanitors on a daily basis and ensure completion of all requirements for shift
  • Coordinate with other shifts & departments on all aspects of safety, quality, receiving, processing, packaging, shipping, sanitation, and maintenance
  • Provide support for the Sanitation Supervisor/Manager in maintaining continuous production
  • Report any issues to Management immediately
  • Fill in for Supervisor when necessary
  • Ensure completion of Sanitation responsibilities daily
  • Correctly wash and sanitize all processing equipment, pumps, blenders and transfer lines
  • Break down, clean, and sanitize all filling equipment
  • Clean entire processing workstation including tables, conveyor chains, floors, walls, and air filter hoses
  • Empty and clean all trash receptacles in production and warehouse areas
  • Wash plastic curtains in processing rooms and production areas
  • Bale residual corrugated and stack pallet and barrels from previous shifts
  • Follow master sanitation schedule as instructed by supervisor
  • Clean all restroom facilities
  • Wash all floors using floor scrubbers, vacuums, air hoses and mops
  • Clean up debris and refuse from exterior of plant
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance to quality, food safety and FSPC support programs
  • Work in a safe and accident-free manner
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing with other employees and Supervisor/Manager
  • Experience in an industrial environment and handling sanitizing chemicals and non-toxic food products
  • Mechanical ability & training in forklift and pallet jack operation helpful
  • Must be able to read and comprehend instruction sheets provided with cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to perform the essential job requirement

Benefits

  • Starting Wage: $23.63/hr
