About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst I position at Pima County's Department of Transportation involves supporting the Mobility, Innovation & Technology (MIT) Division in managing technology and application needs from a functional and analytical perspective. The role focuses on data analysis, reporting solutions, and process automation to enhance departmental operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely data insights.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert on reporting tools and data analysis; make recommendations on process changes.
• Provide data analysis and reporting solutions support for various departments.
• Work on data analysis tasks independently or as part of a team.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
• Develop and write business requirements for identified data analysis and reporting solutions.
• Create and maintain reports, data queries, scripts, workflows, and automated tasks using SQL and various database management tools.
• Identify and analyze commonly used queries and reports to determine applicability of current solutions.
• Research reporting problems and assist in creating models to analyze reporting needs.
• Develop, execute, and document user test plans.
• Coordinate and perform quality control testing of new or updated software and processes; resolve issues based on test results.
• Verify that collected data meets required quality standards.
• Maintain the quality of metadata repository/data dictionary by managing data entries.
• Create data quality tickets and ensure timely resolution.
• Assist in developing and presenting end-user training materials.
• Train and assist clients in the use of business intelligence solutions.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in data analysis.
• Mid-level SQL skills.
• Valid driver license required at time of application.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Arizona or ability to obtain within probationary period.

Benefits

• Salary range of $57,607 - $80,649 annually based on experience and internal equity.
