About the position

Illuminos Academic Coaching & Tutoring is seeking passionate, creative, and caring educators to work as Academic (ADHD) Coaches, Tutors, and Teachers for students with ADHD and learning differences. The position involves providing one-on-one coaching to students from 3rd grade through college, either in-person at their homes or virtually. Coaches will help students develop essential Executive Function skills, including organization, time management, and study strategies, using the Illuminos EF Proprietary Curriculum. The role emphasizes emotional intelligence and aims to foster independence and responsibility in students. Collaboration with parents, teachers, school counselors, case managers, therapists, and other educational and medical professionals is crucial to ensure comprehensive support for each student. Strong communication with students, parents, and the Illuminos leadership team is also a key aspect of the role. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with learning differences such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Processing Delays, or ASD, and will be committed to making a positive impact in the lives of these students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one coaching to students from 3rd grade through college, in-person with some virtual sessions.
  • Develop students' Executive Function skills, including organization, time management, and study strategies using the Illuminos EF Proprietary Curriculum.
  • Emphasize emotional intelligence and Executive Function skills to help students become more independent and responsible.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, school counselors, case managers, therapists, and other educational and medical professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and the Illuminos leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (required); preferred degrees in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with students (experience with learning differences preferred).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong rapport with students and families.
  • Willingness to work in students' homes and virtually.
  • Commitment to a minimum of one year with Illuminos.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience with ADHD, Dyslexia, or other learning differences preferred.
