Assistant Plant Operator (Florida Seasonal Worker)

About the position

This temporary position involves performing routine field activities in support of Steam Plant Operations and/or FGD operations at Duke Energy. The role includes monitoring equipment, conducting daily checks, and assisting qualified personnel in various tasks. Employees will work rotating shifts and may be assigned to different schedules, including maintenance and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks in assigned areas such as Waste Water Treatment, FGD, and Steam Plant.
• Monitor running equipment and ensure operational efficiency.
• Pull bottom ash and unload trucks containing various materials.
• Conduct routine sampling and analysis of materials.
• Load ball mill balls and assist qualified journeyman as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Candidates must not be impaired by color blindness.
• Must possess a good sense of dexterity.
• Ability to adjust to shift work and work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, damp, dry).
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
