About the position
Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Mid-Level Aircraft Machinist to join the Emergent Operations Team in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role is critical in supporting the production of aircraft components by utilizing both manual and CNC machines. The selected candidate will be responsible for interpreting complex blueprints and specifications to set up and machine items, particularly focusing on fabricating out-of-sequence emergent production parts as required. The position demands a high level of precision and attention to detail, as the machinist will develop and revise Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry to ensure the accuracy of the machined parts. In addition to technical skills, the machinist will collaborate with team members to resolve issues and complete job responsibilities effectively. This position is expected to be 100% onsite, requiring the selected candidate to work at the North Charleston location. Candidates must be prepared to work any shift based on operational needs, reflecting the dynamic nature of the aerospace manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Follow general instructions and interpret complex blueprint drawings and specifications.
- Set up and machine items to fabricate out-of-sequence emergent production parts using manual and CNC machines.
- Develop and revise Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry.
- Assist the team in resolving issues and completing job responsibilities.
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience setting up CNC machines.
- 3+ years of experience operating 3, 4, or 5 axis NC/CNC machine tools.
- Ability to work any shift based on operational needs.
Nice-to-haves
- 3+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of 787 Program Experience.
- 3+ years' experience in a team environment.
- 3+ years' experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, electrical schematics, and reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings.
- 3+ years' experience using manual mill and lathe machines.
- 3+ years' experience setting up and fixtures, operating, and programming CNC machines.
