About the position

Join ASPIN as a Certified Health Insurance Navigator and make a significant impact in your community by helping individuals access affordable health insurance. In this role, you will provide essential support to those in need, addressing the social determinants of health and ensuring they receive the coverage they deserve. As a Certified Health Insurance Navigator, you will be responsible for guiding applicants through the enrollment process, educating them on their options, and assisting them in selecting the best health insurance plans for their needs. The position offers comprehensive training, where you will be paid to train online and become certified by both Federal and State programs. You will work from a home office, with all necessary equipment provided, including a computer, software, printer, and cell phone. However, travel and in-person appointments in the community are required, making it essential to be comfortable with a certain level of mobility. In addition to a competitive hourly wage, which starts at $19.65 and goes up to $21.00 for bilingual navigators, you will enjoy a full health benefits package, including dental and vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan. You will also receive paid mileage, 12 paid holidays, 80 hours of vacation, and 40 hours of sick time annually in your first year of employment. There are additional compensation opportunities, including eligibility for annual retention compensation, ensuring that you have a stable and rewarding career with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Offer free enrollment help via virtual or in-person appointments.
  • Guide plan selection and educate applicants on financial eligibility and next steps.
  • Conduct group presentations and participate in outreach events to inform the community about available services.
  • Distribute marketing materials to promote services.
  • Follow up with applicants to ensure they complete the enrollment process and receive the necessary support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate's degree or relevant experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (IDOI requirement).
  • Passion for helping others and making a positive impact in the community.
  • Relevant experience of at least 3 years is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish.
