Commodity Sourcing Leader - Mechanical (m/f/d)

About the position

The Commodity Sourcing Leader will be responsible for executing the sourcing strategy for mechanical commodities, focusing on supplier negotiation and selection while ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency. This role involves collaboration with various functions to ensure optimal supplier selection and timely equipment provision, contributing to the overall business strategy and long-term planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategy for assigned commodity to achieve cost productivity and cash flow goals.
• Support global supplier selection, qualification, and management throughout the contract life cycle.
• Execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation and process changes.
• Develop technical and market expertise in the global commodity area.
• Create and enforce business policies to meet targets and improve procurement processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify direct material productivity ideas.
• Work with logistics and commercial teams to minimize transportation costs and meet localization requirements.
• Align with global commodity leaders to assess supplier capabilities and manage performance.
• Negotiate costs while maintaining high quality standards.
• Participate in company-wide strategic sourcing initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial experience in Sourcing, Sales, Operations, Engineering, and/or Supply Chain.
