About the position

We are seeking a Consulting DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in the Scientific industry. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in DevOps, DevSecOps, and Cloud Security. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing secure, scalable, and highly available systems on-premises and in the cloud. You will work closely with a team of software developers, system administrators, and security experts to design, deploy, and maintain the next generation of our scientific applications and infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available systems using Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift.
• Develop and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support agile software development.
• Implement and manage cloud security strategies, including access controls, network security, encryption, and incident response.
• Collaborate with software developers to ensure secure coding practices are followed and perform security code reviews.
• Use Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure system uptime and performance.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using CloudFormation and Ansible.
• Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems for system and application health.
• Conduct system performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevSecOps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a cloud environment.
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like CloudFormation and Ansible.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Certifications in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Cloud Security are a plus.
