About the position

The Facility Maintenance Technician at Westway Services Group LLC is responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day maintenance tasks across two locations in Northern Virginia. This role involves coordinating with the Facility Manager to ensure efficient use of maintenance resources and timely completion of tenant requests. The technician will also manage outside vendors and maintenance personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations while responding to building emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute all day-to-day maintenance tasks at both locations.
  • Coordinate with the Facility Manager to ensure efficient use of maintenance resources.
  • Ensure timely completion of tenant requests.
  • Manage outside vendors and maintenance personnel to complete scheduled work.
  • Respond to building emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
  • Coordinate, operate, maintain, and repair all appliances, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Review and adjust HVAC equipment to maintain industry-standard temperatures.
  • Oversee landscaping work and irrigation system repairs.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with safety and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Order, stock, and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Supervise tenant move-ins and move-outs.
  • Conduct emergency response, valuation, restoration, and incident reporting.
  • Perform lightbulb and ballast replacements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the building maintenance industry with commercial office buildings.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems with hands-on experience.
  • Flexibility in work hours to respond to after-hours emergency calls.
  • Positive attitude and a focus on customer service and results.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS software.
  • US Citizenship required to meet government regulations.
  • Must have and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance and be willing to take a polygraph.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a multi-tenant office environment.
  • Industry certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical.
