About the position

As a Logistics Service Representative/Medical Delivery Driver at MedSpeed, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare logistics sector, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of medical supplies, specimens, and materials. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a company-owned vehicle, navigating through various routes to deliver essential items to healthcare organizations in your community. This position requires a commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork, as you will be interacting with both clients and fellow team members throughout your day. In this role, you will spend most of your time driving and transporting a variety of items, including lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, and hospital supplies. You will be responsible for loading and unloading your vehicle, utilizing appropriate equipment, and ensuring that all items are tracked accurately using a hand-held scanning device. Adhering to operating policies and service schedules is essential, as is demonstrating safe and courteous driving behavior at all times. Additionally, you will conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of your vehicle. Your ability to work collaboratively with teammates and clients will be vital in fostering a positive MedSpeed team culture. We are looking for individuals who are adaptable, reliable, and committed to delivering health through logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
  • Load and unload the company vehicle with appropriate equipment.
  • Operate a hand-held scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
  • Observe operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
  • Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
  • Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
  • Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age to drive company vehicles.
  • Relevant industry/driving experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver's license and excellent driving history.
  • Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
  • Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in logistics or medical delivery services.
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
