Responsibilities

  • Build a culture of employee engagement designed to increase overall staff engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Develop and oversee the hospital's budget, ensuring efficient financial operations and compliance with fiscal policies while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Utilize CMS guidelines to optimize reimbursement processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor financial performance through regular reporting and analysis, implementing corrective actions to meet financial goals.
  • Engage in strategic financial planning and resource allocation to support sustainable growth.
  • Ensure the delivery of superior patient care services by continuously evaluating and enhancing service delivery models.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to streamline operations, ensuring timely access to care and improved patient outcomes.
  • Develop patient-centric programs and initiatives to elevate the hospital's reputation and patient satisfaction.
  • Act as a liaison between the hospital and external partners, fostering community relations and collaborative efforts.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Lead efforts to improve clinical outcomes and patient safety through data-driven and evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of processes to identify improvement areas and implement best practices.
  • Encourage staff involvement in quality improvement projects and professional development.
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion and the development of new programs in alignment with the hospital's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to enhance the hospital's visibility and reputation within the community.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with other healthcare providers to expand the hospital's network and resources.
  • Lead initiatives to explore and adopt innovative technologies that improve service delivery and patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital administration, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a large hospital or healthcare facility, overseeing complex operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record in financial management and strategic planning, including budget development and cost control.
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related required.
  • Extensive experience with major healthcare payors, including Medicare and Medicaid, and a comprehensive understanding of CMS guidelines and reimbursement processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards, including JCAHO accreditation and HIPAA requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in Behavioral Health management, though extensive experience in general hospital administration is acceptable.
  • Additional training or certification in healthcare management or administration is highly desirable.
  • Fellowship or membership in professional healthcare management organizations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) preferred.
  • Certification in healthcare management or administration (e.g., Certified Healthcare Executive) is an advantage.
  • Experience with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is highly preferred.
