About the position

Camin Cargo Control is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inspector to join our team. This position is crucial for ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for performing sampling, pipeline transfers, inventories, and barge inspections, including line condition surveys. You will conduct vessel inspections under the direct supervision of a Senior Inspector, ensuring that all field assignments conform to company policies and procedures, as well as job-specific instructions provided by the Operations Department. Your role as a company field representative will require you to act in a professional and dignified manner, maintaining the company’s respected and trusted reputation in the industry. In this position, you will be expected to maintain regular contact with the Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules. You will effectively communicate all aspects of your assigned job duties and ensure that you are aligned with the expectations of terminals and vessel/barge personnel. Your responsibilities will include obtaining, labeling, and transporting samples to the laboratory in a timely manner, as well as maintaining assigned inspection equipment in good working order. You will also be responsible for measuring products, performing required field calculations per API Standards, and completing all necessary field documentation to submit reports to the Operations Department promptly. Responsibilities

  • Acts as a Company representative in the field, performing duties as per company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains regular contact with the Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules.
  • Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties to avoid delays or conflicts.
  • Obtains, labels, and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment.
  • Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored.
  • Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards.
  • Completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with good math skills.
  • Minimum three months of inspection experience.
  • Completion of Inspector level training and passing corresponding theoretical tests and field evaluations.
  • Must have or obtain IFIA certification after gaining at least six months of industry experience, with employer assistance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
  • Possess and maintain a vehicle in good working order, a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and registration to travel to work sites.
  • Dependable, able to work independently, and effectively communicate with clients (i.e., terminal and vessel/barge personnel).
  • Must pass company-defined physical requirements and meet site-specific requirements mandated by customers and/or terminals.
