We are currently seeking a Manager or Sr. Manager, Corporate & Business Development to join LG NOVA, the LGE innovation unit based in Santa Clara, CA. This can be a hybrid position. LG Electronics North America Innovation Center ("LG NOVA") has been established with an ambitious vision to become the nerve center of global innovation. Aiming to create the future of LG with a focus on disruptive and exponential growth, LG NOVA works with global corporations, startups, governments, and technology stakeholders to create new businesses, establish strategic partnerships, and develop a broad ecosystem using the process of "outside-in" innovation. As a Manager or Senior Manager of Global Corporate & Business Development at LG Electronics, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the company to achieve its growth objectives through inorganic strategies. Your responsibilities will include strategically promoting new businesses that align with and advance LGE's strategic directions, thereby contributing to position the organization as a preeminent leader in its industry. You will spearhead efforts to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and investment opportunities that complement LGE's existing portfolio and drive long-term growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought partner, devising and articulating corporate and functional strategies and translating company objectives into initiatives and tactical plays.
  • Generate business and market insights, design strategies, and develop business cases and investment/partnership theses to unlock opportunities in new markets for LG Electronics.
  • Source, develop, manage, and execute upon a pipeline of opportunities with team members in the US and in Korea.
  • Support the strategic thought process by identifying inorganic needs and opportunities, developing action plans and supporting their execution.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry trends, market dynamics and competitive landscapes grounded in primary and secondary research.
  • Develop strategic insights based on market assessments, analysis of industry trends, market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
  • Leverage consulting frameworks to translate insights into informed recommendations for build, buy, or partner strategies, enabling effective market entry and expansion.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and key stakeholders across LG U.S. and LG Korea to ensure alignment with business objectives and support strategic planning.
  • Build compelling content, articulate investment theses, and prepare recommendations to support various M&A, JV, investment, and partnership.
  • Lead analysis, financial modeling, valuation analysis, internal updates, and other critical deal components for domestic and international transactions (M&A, JV, equity investment, Partnership).
  • Perform due diligence and drive seamless deal execution by coordinating cross-functional teams throughout the entire deal lifecycle including deal terms and contracts.
  • Support post-deal efforts (e.g. PMI).
  • Establish and maintain strong professional networks inside and outside LG (e.g. investment banks, PEs, law firms, consulting firms).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years relevant work with a proven track record at a top-tier firm.
  • At least 3-5 years working directly in corporate development, corporate strategy, and business development.
  • Good problem-solving skills to break down complex issues, identify root causes, prioritize effectively, and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities to rapidly assimilate new concepts.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, a self-starting attitude, and the capacity to leverage resources effectively to drive successful outcomes without constant oversight.
  • Superb analytical competencies and mastery of tools/methods to support the M&A process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate key technical concepts, and ability to package complex ideas into logical, easy-to-follow progressions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities to work seamlessly across functions and levels of seniority.
  • Strong professional networks.
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer electronics and digital services industry.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in structuring and executing complex deals.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Korean language (Business Level).
