About the position

The Manufacturing Skills Trainer at LG Chem will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing training programs for plant operations. This position involves collaborating with various departments to design, facilitate, and deliver training for employees at different levels, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. The trainer will also participate in the hiring process and support HR functions, making this role integral to both employee development and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and HR departments in designing training plans and programs.
  • Conduct training across all shifts as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Review and test new employees' skill sets, providing feedback and improvement plans.
  • Partner with local industry partners to develop apprenticeship or course-specific training programs.
  • Engage participants through interactive training methods and encourage discussions.
  • Prepare training materials, equipment, and facilities prior to each session.
  • Facilitate training through hands-on classes, virtual sessions, and workshops.
  • Participate in the employee hiring process by assessing candidates' skills and providing input on hiring decisions.
  • Support the creation of technical learning solutions and assist with New Hire Orientation/Onboarding.
  • Track, evaluate, and measure employee training effectiveness using the company's Learning Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ years of technical training experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of instructional training skills and ability to deliver employee training programs.
  • Familiarity with virtual training platforms and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other training software.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate training programs and methods.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts, including weekends, and stand for prolonged periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and IATF16949 industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical ability to effectively analyze production data.
