About the position

The Partner Development Manager for Global Strategic Partners at Amazon Web Services (AWS) plays a pivotal role in driving revenue, adoption, and growth from a diverse range of customers, from small and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level clients, including those in the public sector. This position is part of the Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) team, which is dedicated to redefining the IT industry through innovative partnerships and strategic business development. As a National Partner Development Manager, you will manage a top AWS Consulting Partner, focusing on building mindshare and adoption of Amazon's infrastructure web services across North America. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Partner Solution Architects (PSA) and Partner Marketing Managers (PMM) to maximize revenue and customer impact in the U.S. market. Your responsibilities will include developing execution plans aimed at delivering world-class business solutions that drive customer success on the AWS platform. You will be dedicated to fostering exponential growth through the development of the partner's practice areas, skillsets, and integration with AWS Sales and Professional Services. To succeed, you will need a strong business background that enables you to engage effectively at the CXO level, coupled with technical sales experience that allows for seamless interaction with enterprise customers. You should possess a strategic mindset to navigate business, product, and technical challenges, and be adept at building and conveying compelling partner value propositions. This role is not just about managing relationships; it’s about driving significant business outcomes and ensuring that partners are equipped to leverage AWS services effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and work closely with the leadership of the AWS Partnership to develop commitments to revenue and growth in the United States.
  • Integrate with AWS Sales and Services BD Teams to drive sales engagements between partners and AWS sales teams.
  • Engage the Partner's field sales organization, channels, and end customers to create and drive revenue opportunities for AWS.
  • Create and execute a strategic business development plan for target markets with large strategic partners, ensuring technical alignment with AWS's strategic direction and working with key internal stakeholders.
  • Identify specific customer solutions, sales segment plays, and industry verticals to approach with a joint value proposition for using AWS.
  • Ensure that the partner is successful using AWS services and has the technical resources required to deliver against customer needs.
  • Provide Partner feedback to internal product development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.
  • Communicate to AWS Partner teams, field sales, solutions architects, and business development teams about the Partner's capabilities and successes.
  • Prepare periodic business reviews for the AWS senior management team.
  • Support complex contract negotiations and serve as a liaison to the legal group.
  • Work with AWS partner solution architects to help assigned partners define go-to-market solution offerings utilizing the AWS service portfolio.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
