About the position

The Payroll Clerk plays a crucial role within the Human Resource Department, responsible for assisting with the weekly and monthly payroll processes. This position requires effective communication across all levels of the company and involves various payroll-related tasks, including the calculation of hourly payroll, commission compensation, and handling of vacation accruals and payouts. The Payroll Clerk will also participate in financial audits and assist with new hire orientation and termination documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with weekly and monthly payroll using UKG.
  • Calculate hourly payroll and commission compensation.
  • Process vacation accruals and payouts.
  • Handle manual payroll check requests and garnishments.
  • Interact with Supervisors and Department Heads regarding timecards and commission reports.
  • Participate in routine financial audits.
  • Assist the Human Resource Department with new hire orientation and termination documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (REQUIRED).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with UKG Pro HRIS/Payroll system(s).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of payroll experience.
  • Experience processing both hourly and commission-based payroll.
  • Experience generating reports from HRIS for analysis and communication.
  • Experience processing pension payments to the qualified plan Administrator.
  • Experience processing union dues and garnishments.
  • Experience with required filings (FUTA, FICA, etc.).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or a related field (PREFERRED).
  • Experience with AS400 (not required but preferred).
