The Pharmacist position in Emergency Medicine at Grant Medical Center is a full-time role that operates on a night shift schedule, specifically a 7 on / 7 off rotation from 2100 to 0800. This position is integral to the clinical pharmacy services, where pharmacists work within a progressive practice model. All pharmacists rotate through the central pharmacy and engage in 2-3 clinical areas, ensuring that pharmacy services are well integrated into interdisciplinary teams across the campus and organization. The role requires a commitment to work during two major holidays each year, emphasizing the importance of availability and dedication to patient care during critical times. As a clinical pharmacist, the individual will be responsible for dispensing and compounding medications, counseling patients on medication and health-related subjects, interpreting prescriptions, and managing patient drug therapy for complications. The pharmacist will also perform drug utilization reviews and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to provide safe, high-quality, and cost-effective drug therapy.
