About the position

The University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a Salesforce Integration Developer to join our team. This position will report directly to the Director of IT. The Salesforce Integration Developer supports agile teams implementing Salesforce-based solutions with custom integration to other systems using Informatica, and other third-party integration/ETL tools such as Pentaho, FormAssembly, and MuleSoft. The best candidate will be a highly technical professional experienced in data integration and Salesforce development. Candidates should have extensive experience with integration tools and knowledge of Salesforce architecture. In this role, you will support agile teams in implementing Salesforce-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration with other systems. You will utilize tools like Informatica and other ETL tools to facilitate this integration. Your responsibilities will also include application development using SQL, SOQL/SOSL, and Lightning Web Components. You will be tasked with building and sharing Salesforce-based reports and dashboards with various internal groups, as well as maintaining Salesforce-based portals and Lightning Apps for specific staff groups. Additionally, you will work on enhancing the EDA and custom object schema to align with our use case needs. Adhering to industry best practices for change and release management is crucial, as is the practice of continuous improvement by monitoring systems and making recommendations or adjustments that benefit staff and students. Other related duties may be assigned to support the objectives of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Support agile teams implementing Salesforce-based solutions with custom integration to other systems using Informatica and other third-party integration/ETL tools such as Pentaho, FormAssembly, and MuleSoft.
  • Support application development using SQL, SOQL/SOSL, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Build and share Salesforce-based reports and dashboards with different internal groups.
  • Build and maintain Salesforce-based portals for certain staff groups.
  • Build and maintain Lightning Apps for communities.
  • Build and improve on EDA and custom object schema to meet our use case needs.
  • Adhere to industry best practices for change and release management.
  • Practice continuous improvement by constantly monitoring systems and making recommendations or adjustments beneficial to staff and students.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 3 years of Salesforce and/or ASP.NET Development experience.
  • 2 years ETL/integration experience with Informatica or Mulesoft or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with SOAP or Rest API Design and Development; Salesforce APIs and SOQL/SOSL; collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members; translating prioritized needs into well-designed scalable solutions.
  • Knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of the Salesforce application as applicable to business processes.
  • Knowledge of Systems and Process Integration Design and Development.
  • Knowledge of declarative tools in Salesforce including all process automation tools.
  • Knowledge of EDA.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce's data security model.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional Salesforce Platform Developer certifications are a plus.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder credential.
  • Experience working with external system integrations.
  • Experience working with Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Communities.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including working within a sprint framework.
  • Higher education experience is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills are desired.

  • Salary range: $97,198 - $135,000/year.
