The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager at Cubic Transportation Systems plays a pivotal role in the financial planning, consolidation, and business analysis processes of the organization. The incumbent will work closely with regional management teams to create consolidated financial budgets and forecasts, while also performing variance analysis to ensure financial accuracy and accountability. In this role, the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will be a key member of the worldwide team, tasked with enhancing value for money while maintaining the required standards and quality. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to develop business cases and minimize project costs. The incumbent will also be responsible for establishing consistent reporting on key financial performance indicators across all global business units, maintaining financial and operational KPI reports, and analyzing monthly and quarterly financial results to provide insightful commentary that aids decision-making. Additionally, the role involves improving processes and rolling out forecasting and budgeting tools to enable timely and accurate financial planning. The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will develop cost-benefit and productivity analyses in line with the company's financial plans and assist in preparing cost-improvement strategies. Strong working relationships with the company's products and services will be essential for effective collaboration during business development and contract negotiations. The position also includes preparing presentations for senior management, analyzing overheads, optimizing rate structures, and leading international indirect reports in a matrix environment. This position typically operates under limited supervision and direction, making it crucial for the incumbent to possess strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated financial budgets and forecasts in collaboration with regional management teams.
  • Perform variance analysis to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
  • Develop and establish consistent reporting on key business financial performance across all global business units.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results and provide commentary to enable decision-making.
  • Work closely with other intracompany finance groups to meet deadlines and develop best practices for the corporation.
  • Improve processes and roll out forecasting and budgeting tools to enable timely and accurate financial planning.
  • Develop cost-benefit and productivity analyses in line with the company's financial plans.
  • Assist in preparing cost-improvement plans.
  • Build strong working relationships to facilitate effective collaboration during business development and contract negotiations.
  • Assist in the implementation of critical business systems to meet Cubic reporting requirements.
  • Prepare presentations for senior management.
  • Analyze overheads and optimize rate structures.
  • Analyze capital allocation across the business.
  • Lead international indirect reports in a matrix environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics.
  • Eight (8)+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly advanced Excel modeling, PowerPivot, and technical consolidation tools.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex data and deliver concise management presentations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Experience using SAP.
