Variety FoodServices, Michigan's largest family-owned and operated food service business, is seeking a Vending Route Driver/Admin Hybrid to join our team. This position is crucial for ensuring that our vending machines are stocked, clean, and functioning properly, providing excellent service to our customers. The Vending Route Driver will be responsible for driving a company vehicle over an established route to multiple locations in the tri-county area, filling and cleaning vending machines, administering refunds, and maintaining the vehicle. The role requires a strong focus on customer service and the ability to manage inventory effectively. The Vending Route Driver will merchandise products according to a planogram, gather and report customer feedback, and maintain established inventory levels for all products sold in the vending machines. This includes following protocols for inventory tracking and rotating products, as well as collecting and recording out-of-date, rejected, or unsold merchandise. The driver will also review inventory requirements to identify needed products for each point of sale and work closely with the warehouse to ensure all products are ready for delivery. Proper safety protocols must be followed when loading and unloading products to prevent injury. In addition to product delivery, the driver will handle cash transactions, administering refunds to customers who experience issues with the vending machines. Basic math skills are necessary for this aspect of the job. Regular inventory counts will be conducted using a hand-held computer, and the driver will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the vending machines. Light mechanical aptitude is required to fix small jams in the machines, and vehicle maintenance will include checking for adequate gas, oil, and antifreeze levels. The position may also involve additional projects and assignments as assigned by management.
