About the position

The Ab Initio ETL Developer at UST Global is responsible for building end-to-end business solutions, particularly in the healthcare sector. This role involves executing ETL processes, designing and integrating components, and developing efficient Ab Initio code. The ideal candidate will collaborate with technical experts and participate in testing and quality assurance to ensure the successful implementation of data warehousing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for data warehousing.
  • Assist in designing and integrating ETL components while addressing and resolving data-related issues.
  • Utilize experience with ETL tools in a DB2 environment to support ETL processes.
  • Develop efficient Ab Initio code by performing source and target analysis.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of the ETL application to meet business requirements.
  • Participate in creating and executing system and integration test plans to validate the ETL application.
  • Develop ETL specifications based on business needs to guide implementation.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working in a data warehousing environment using the Ab Initio suite.
  • Knowledge of UNIX systems.
  • Proficiency in the Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE).
  • Familiarity with Ab Initio Meta Data Hub (MDH) and Enterprise Meta>Data Environment (EME).
  • Experience with Control-M Scheduler and developing web services using Ab Initio Continuous Flows.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to create designs represented as flow diagrams (preferably using Visio).
  • Experience in designing data warehousing and reporting solutions utilizing databases, ETL tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools such as Cognos or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, including medical and prescription claims processing, healthcare enrollments, and provider operations.
