About the position

The Academic Operations Specialist (AOS) at Empowerment Academy Charter School plays a crucial role in supporting the Principal in managing the academic operations of the school. This position focuses on designing, implementing, and operating efficient systems that enhance the educational program and facilitate faculty professional development. The AOS will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of academic processes, including class scheduling, test administration, and coordination of school events.

Responsibilities

• Master the school's primary information systems and facilitate system integrations with external application vendors.
• Oversee teacher training in using school systems and instructional software.
• Create and manage class and student schedules, including handling add/drops and class changes.
• Coordinate substitute teacher assignments to ensure classes are covered during teacher absences.
• Schedule major benchmark and NJSLA assessments and maintain an inventory of test materials.
• Assist with new employee orientation and provide induction training for new faculty.
• Liaison with the Departments of Administration and Operations regarding academy needs.
• Assist in the design and implementation of school-wide systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working in a school environment.
• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited university or college.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Excel, and other office programs.
• Attention to detail and ability to review work for errors.
