About The Position

The Access Control Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining access control systems and related security technologies to ensure the safety and integrity of facilities. This role involves working with various security systems, including CCTV and fire alarms, and requires a strong technical background in troubleshooting and maintaining security equipment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar role within the security industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Integrated Security Systems (IDS) and computer networking principles.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware related to security systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools for installation and repair tasks.
  • Experience with fire alarm systems and their integration into overall security measures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of surveillance technologies, including CCTV systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-security standards.
  • 1-3 years experience with Access Control.
  • Experience installing electrified door hardware of all varieties.
  • Experience fishing mullion and walls.
  • Knowledge of what cables/wires go to each device.
  • Trimming out field devices and Access Control Head End.
  • Knowledge of Relay Logic and basic networking.
  • Knowledge of multiple Access Control Manufacturers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fire alarm systems and their integration into overall security measures is preferred.
  • Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Ability to commute to Englewood, CO 80110 (Preferred)
  • Ability to relocate to Englewood, CO 80110 before starting work (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including electronic locks and surveillance cameras (CCTV).
  • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate access control systems with existing computer networking infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support for service-related issues, including the use of hand tools for repairs and installations.
  • Manage fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in locksmithing tasks as needed for secure entry points.
  • Utilize remote access software to monitor and manage access control remotely.
  • Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and service requests.
