The Account Executive Officer (AEO) for National Accounts at Travelers is a pivotal role that focuses on providing casualty solutions for clients with significant risk. This includes coverages such as Workers' Compensation, General and Product Liability, and Commercial Automobile Liability. The AEO will work closely with agents, brokers, and customers to deliver guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive coverage tailored to the specific needs of new and renewal business. This position is recognized as a technical resource within the organization, requiring a decisive and detail-oriented individual who excels at building relationships both internally and externally to drive results. The AEO will independently assess complex risks and effectively sell Travelers' products in challenging markets, contributing to the overall profitability and success of the company. In this role, the AEO will manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business. Responsibilities include underwriting and negotiating complex customer accounts to minimize risk while maximizing profitability. The AEO will cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners across the enterprise to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities. Additionally, the AEO will foster relationships with external partners by regularly meeting with agents, brokers, and customers to market and sell Travelers products, aiming to write and retain accounts that align with the company's risk appetite. The role also involves identifying and capturing new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales skills, with a sales process that may take six months to a year to target new accounts. The AEO will independently develop and execute agency sales plans and frequently collaborate with the Managing Director to create regional or group sales strategies. There may also be opportunities to assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives. This position is essential for driving the success of Travelers in the National Accounts segment, requiring a blend of technical underwriting expertise, strong relationship management skills, and a proactive approach to business development.
