About the position

The Account Executive Officer (AEO) for National Accounts at Travelers Insurance is a pivotal role that focuses on providing casualty solutions for clients with significant risk. This position is integral to the underwriting team, where the AEO will partner with agents, brokers, and customers to deliver tailored coverage options such as Workers' Compensation, General and Product Liability, and Commercial Automobile Liability. The AEO is expected to be a technical resource, demonstrating decisiveness and attention to detail while building strong relationships both internally and externally to drive results. The role requires an independent assessment of complex risks and the ability to sell products in challenging markets, contributing to the overall profitability and success of Travelers. In this role, the AEO will manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business. This includes underwriting and negotiating complex customer accounts to minimize risk while maximizing profitability. The AEO will cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners across the enterprise to create effective sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities. Regular in-person meetings with agents, brokers, and customers are essential to market and sell Travelers products, with a focus on writing and retaining accounts that align with the company's risk appetite. The AEO will also be responsible for identifying and capturing new business opportunities through consultative marketing and sales skills, recognizing that the sales process for new accounts can take six months to a year. Additionally, the AEO may assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to meet the demands of the market.
