About the position

The Account Executive for People Solutions at Lockton, Inc. is responsible for serving as the primary operations liaison between Lockton and its clients, providing expert advice on group insurance issues, and developing new business opportunities. This role requires strong client service skills, technical knowledge in insurance, and the ability to manage complex underwriting and funding strategies. The Account Executive will also prepare client presentations, oversee renewal efforts, and ensure compliance with company policies while fostering positive relationships with clients and insurance carriers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operations liaison between Lockton and clients.
  • Act as the primary technical advisor to clients on all group insurance issues under the Producer's direction.
  • Interface effectively with senior management of clients and/or prospects, representing Lockton professionally.
  • Develop new business within the existing book of business with the Producer.
  • Prepare an Annual Service Plan for each client and meet with clients quarterly or as necessary.
  • Oversee renewal and marketing efforts, leading carrier selection and financial negotiations.
  • Review drafts of all employee communication pieces and sign off on agreements/documents.
  • Lead all client meetings and attend enrollment meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure data in BenefitPoint is loaded and updated annually for all assigned clients.
  • Review the Revenue by Client report monthly and ensure timely payment of commissions due.
  • Seek opportunities to increase commission income at renewal time.
  • Prepare client presentations including Stewardship, Strategic Planning, Pre-Renewal, and Renewal.
  • Handle complex underwriting and funding issues and strategies.
  • Develop relationships with insurance carriers and administrators for optimal client results.
  • Direct/assign special projects for clients as needed in concert with the Unit Manager.
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports, and analyses as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 7+ years of client services experience, including at least 5 years in benefits.
  • Firm working knowledge of group benefits in multiple product lines and basic understanding of risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting, financing, and funding approaches.
  • Ability to prepare and present client presentations clearly and effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of industry trends and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, protecting confidentiality of client and company information.
