About the position

The Account Executive at Interstate Battery System of America Inc. is responsible for managing and growing relationships with multiple Warehouse Distributor (WD) and Regional accounts. This role focuses on profitable growth, customer engagement, and strategic planning to achieve business objectives. The Account Executive will lead cross-functional teams, present growth plans, and ensure effective communication across departments to meet account deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple WD and Regional customers and leverages internal resources to grow the book of business.
  • Manages growth plans that stretch and achieve share gains greater than the industry.
  • Presents updated growth plans quarterly and account plans monthly to leadership.
  • Leads and manages account plans weekly with support from a cross-functional core team.
  • Schedules and leads business meetings, quarterly business reviews, and line reviews.
  • Completes customer engagement reports that justify travel-related spend.
  • Responsible for relationship mapping and executing annual pricing actions.
  • Manages and leads core teams on all internal/external account deliverables.
  • Schedules performance meetings and drives committed actions to completion.
  • Informs management of poor performance and suggests mitigation strategies.
  • Uses Corrective Action Planning (CAP) to enable tasks or projects to complete on time.
  • Facilitates internal communication regarding account development.
  • Acts as a champion for the company's Purpose and Values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in the Automotive and Commercial aftermarket.
  • Sales Account Management or Category Management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the battery and/or retail tire business is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify decision makers.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Highly motivated with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid strategic and analytical skills with a deep understanding of financials and pricing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the battery and/or retail tire business.
  • Familiarity with financial impact of sales decisions.
