About the position

STARK is seeking an experienced Luxury Carpet Sales Professional to join our Houston showroom. This role focuses on selling to the trades, specifically targeting interior designers and architectural firms. The position offers a base salary commensurate with experience, along with opportunities for additional sales commissions and incentives. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service, engage with clients, and utilize their product knowledge to drive sales while supporting other Account Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service at the front desk to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Provide sales support to other Account Managers while training them.
  • Actively engage with retail and trade clients in the showroom, using in-depth product knowledge to drive sales.
  • Advise clients on product attributes and qualities related to their needs through networking and market trend analysis.
  • Identify potential clients and create strategic client-centric marketing plans.
  • Cold call potential clients using customized sales and marketing scripts.
  • Create pre and post-client visit reports, assess purchasing potential, and deliver analysis to senior management.
  • Collaborate on the creation and development of the company's core message to clients.
  • Develop event strategy, lead and organize events for specific clients with discretion over budgets and invitees.
  • Prepare sales documents to initiate and close sales.
  • Collaborate on the creation of layouts for installation from a design perspective.
  • Coach Account Associates on sales strategies and tactics.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong relationships with interior design clientele.
  • Strong interest in the interior design trade.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of carpet qualities, attributes, and manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • B.A. / B.S. Degree preferably in Interior Design or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience to the trade, or 5 years sales experience in lieu of educational preferences.
  • Acceptable score on Sales Assessment.
