About the position

The Account Manager (AM) role at Thermo Fisher Scientific is a key commercial position within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division. The AM is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and promoting the CMD product portfolio to customers across various industries. This role emphasizes maintaining long-lasting customer relationships and providing exceptional support to enhance the customer experience. The AM serves as the primary point of contact for sales expertise and drives all commercial activities within their accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize new client opportunities and develop solution implementation and growth strategies.
  • Increase share of wallet within existing accounts by identifying under penetrated areas and demonstrating CMD's value proposition.
  • Develop strong relationships with customer accounts while engaging with buying influencers across their organization.
  • Manage all elements of the sales process from qualification to closing orders with decision maker contacts.
  • Use data to develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and improve market penetration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Expand current account penetration and share of wallet, growing organically with all primary products.
  • Develop sales strategies to meet plans and expand business within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Use internal sales tools to effectively handle leads, prospects, existing accounts, activities, and sales funnel.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor and industry activity and introduce new products and services as available.
  • Lead partnership and coordination with internal specialists to provide technical expertise and advance the sales process.
  • Coordinate technical business presentations and attend trade shows, user meetings, and other customer events.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of confirmed sales experience, preferably in capital equipment sales.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with analytical instruments (Chromatography, HPLC, IC, GC).
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences required.
  • Ability to explain and sell the technical aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientific's scientific Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry product portfolio.
  • Strong market knowledge and professional network.
  • Experience in conducting on-site customer seminars and technical presentations.
  • Commercial demeanor, motivated by a desire to win new business and take market share.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in matrix environments.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and CRM.
