About the position

As an Account Manager at Cisco, you'll manage a growth target in a commercial territory using a channel go to market distribution model. You will target market opportunities by segment and use available resources to aggressively pursue opportunities while also showing sales penetration within a target account list of 10+ accounts. You'll have a 'hunter' mentality, while at the same time exhibiting strategic sales acumen and building strong relationships with customers. You will sell in a matrixed environment that requires a customer-first approach all the while establishing an outcome where everybody wins.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective commercial clients.
  • Seek opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within the client portfolio to achieve sales targets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Prepare and present proposals and presentations to clients, highlighting the benefits of the company's products and services.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, customer service, and product development to ensure client needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of account activities, sales forecasts, and client interactions using CRM software.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure mutually beneficial agreements with clients.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience selling, prospecting and growing an account base.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent track record of success leading a large territory, demand generation, partner development, strategic account planning, forecasting, quota attainment, communicating business transformational solutions via sales presentations, short-term, mid-term, and long-term opportunity management.

  • Strong technical and business knowledge with complimentary skills to understand the customers' business drivers and then align them to Cisco solutions.
  • Demonstrate the necessary skills to negotiate issues with peers, partners and customers using a Win/Win philosophy.
  • Ambitious self-starter with ability to articulate Cisco product and business strategies, and create the demand to complete the deal.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
