The Accountant at the Behavioral Health Center will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, providing insights and recommendations for cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and report on grant-funded projects, ensuring funds are used in accordance with grant guidelines.
  • Prepare documentation and assist during internal and external audits, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making and identify trends within the organization.
  • Work closely with clinical staff and management to support financial planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with organizational policies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in behavioral health, substance use disorder, or a similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and healthcare billing practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA or similar certification is a plus but not required.
