About the position

We are seeking a full-time Accountant/Bookkeeper with at least five years of experience to manage financial records for clients in a public accounting firm or similar multi-client environment. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, results-oriented professional with strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills, possessing a broad base of knowledge in bookkeeping and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Process and record all financial transactions, including cash receipts and disbursements, credit card transactions, bank deposits, and payroll transactions for various clients.
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare certain compliance tax returns, such as sales tax returns, business license renewals, and business property tax statements.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in assembling information for year-end tax packages.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested.
• Complete projects with partners, account managers, and other accounting team members and clients in a collaborative environment.
• Communicate job/project status to partners, team members, and clients in a timely manner.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience in a public accounting firm or similar multi-client environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and collaborate with teams.

Nice-to-haves

• College degree preferred but not required.
• Business management accounting firm experience is a plus.
• Experience working with individuals, closely held businesses, and pass-through entities (S Corps, LLCs, Partnerships, and LPs).
