About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team at Skyway Theatre. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health of our organization and ensuring that all financial records are up to date. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a focus on accuracy and compliance. This position is particularly suited for someone interested in learning the ins and outs of the music industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Conduct financial auditing to verify the accuracy of financial statements.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts to assist in strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Oversee corporate accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure proper documentation of debits and credits for all financial transactions.
• Utilize Quickbooks software for efficient bookkeeping and reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
• Conduct Payroll and pay sales and use taxes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in general ledger accounting, corporate finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial auditing processes.
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Quickbooks is preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to owners.
