About the position

The Accountant position at tasc Performance in Elmwood, LA, is a vital role within our finance team, responsible for managing and recording all accounting and finance transactions. This in-office position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year. The successful candidate will handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, which includes preparing all necessary journal entries. A key responsibility will be to reconcile general ledger accounts and support the preparation for and execution of annual financial audits. The role requires the utilization of forensic accounting techniques to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations, and internal controls. In addition to these responsibilities, the Accountant will oversee and manage the preparation, calculation, and remittance of various taxes, including sales, franchise, and payroll taxes. It is essential to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and reporting requirements. The position may also involve performing other tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department. Responsibilities

  • Record and manage all accounting and finance transactions.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including preparing all journal entries.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience in accounting
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting
  • CPA certification or CPA candidature a plus
  • Expert usage of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and FASB standards.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system is preferred
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-driven
  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel skills
