About the position

The Accounting Assistant for the Construction team will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations by managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, and providing administrative support. This position is essential for maintaining efficient accounting processes and will require the candidate to work onsite for 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Process invoices and payments in a timely manner
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Track budgets and perform cost analysis
  • Coordinate with construction managers for accurate project accounting
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and office support

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting or a related field
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Sage
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of construction accounting practices is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with an Accounting degree being advantageous
