The Accounting & Consulting Services Manager at Horizon Farm Credit will lead a regional team, providing expert guidance in accounting and tax services to drive client success. This role involves business development, quality control oversight, and fostering a collaborative team environment, with a focus on supporting the agricultural community.

  • Guide a regional team of Accounting Officers and support staff in delivering accounting, records, and tax services.
  • Drive new business development and oversee quality controls within the team.
  • Promote cross-departmental integration and cross-selling strategies to enhance Business Services.
  • Establish and implement sales and operational strategies to grow the regional business services portfolio.
  • Supervise marketing and business development activities in alignment with the region's business plan.
  • Achieve team portfolio growth and hold staff accountable for meeting assigned goals and objectives.
  • Coach and supervise staff to support business growth and employee development.
  • Develop staff's sales and technical skills through training and mentoring.
  • Ensure high standards for customer service and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Work directly with a select portfolio of accounting customers, providing high-quality service.
  • Assist in the tax preparation review process to ensure accuracy.
  • Serve as a regional resource for compliance with association policies and procedures.
  • Engage with field management teams to promote cross-selling of Farm Credit products.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation, preferably in agricultural tax preparation.
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently travel within the assigned sales region and overnight as necessary.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, CRM software applications, and Microsoft Office.
