Accounting Manager

About the position

The Accounting Manager provides expertise to corporate and campus leaders regarding accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. This is a hands-on position, with direct involvement in financial operations, detailed analysis, and oversight of key accounting functions. The role ensures accuracy in financial tracking and reporting, and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities. This is a hybrid role based at our Parsippany NJ corporate office.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on fiscal policies and significant financial matters.
• Actively participate in the preparation and review of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure organizational compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Review and analyze financial records, statements, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead and engage in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, adhering to established protocols.
• Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with SOX and other applicable regulations.
• Enforce financial policies, systems, and regulations across all operations.
• Work closely with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to take a hands-on approach to accounting tasks and team leadership.
