About the position

The Accounting Specialist role at GTI is designed to support the growing Accounting team by managing various accounting functions from the customer perspective. This position focuses on accounts receivable management, cost tracking, and project monitoring, ensuring accurate financial documentation and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and issue accurate customer invoices based on service agreements and project milestones.
  • Process and track incoming payments, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Assist in tracking and recording cost of sales, ensuring all costs related to projects are accurately captured.
  • Support month-end processes by compiling cost data.
  • Assist in tracking project progress and applying the percentage of completion method for revenue recognition.
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather necessary data for accurate reporting.
  • Monitor projects from order intake through to completion, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately captured and documented.
  • Provide updates on project financial status, highlighting any issues or concerns.
  • Support the accounting team with various administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with a focus on accounts receivable and project accounting.
  • Experience utilizing accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing organization preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
