About the position

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Director plays a crucial role in the financial success of Technical Safety Services by providing strategic leadership for billing, authorization, and collections activities. This position is essential for maximizing reimbursement, optimizing the billing cycle, and establishing policies that support long-term profitability. The AR Director will manage the Accounts Receivable Department, streamline billing operations, improve collections, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the company-wide AR team, providing leadership and strategic guidance.
  • Partner and consult with leadership from different departments to enhance billing productivity and collection rates.
  • Lead all department operations including data entry, documentation, invoice preparation, AR management, payment posting, collections, and customer service.
  • Analyze and report on billing and collections challenges, successes, and trends to the executive team.
  • Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and improvement of billing-related technology and data management.
  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and procedures for compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic planning, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee billing authorization processes and manage the billing and collections staff in resolving complex payer issues.
  • Foster an environment of development, accountability, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic and high-volume billing and collections, ideally within a service-oriented environment.
  • 4+ years of proven leadership experience in managing billing and collections teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP and creating efficiencies using the system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a mid-sized company environment (over $251MM) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, billing software, and CRM platforms.
