About the position

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager will oversee the company's AR department to ensure efficient invoicing, collection processes, and sustained healthy cash flow. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with proven experience in managing credit policies, collections, and customer relationships. The AR Manager will lead and mentor a team, implement best practices, and collaborate cross-functionally to address issues and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounts receivable team and manage daily AR operations, including invoicing, collections, account reconciliation, and credit card payments.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize overdue balances.
  • Analyze customer accounts to assess creditworthiness, set credit limits, and manage financial risk.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and improve AR processes.
  • Monitor and manage General Ledger postings related to accounts receivable, including deductions and adjustments.
  • Assist in system clean-up initiatives to streamline AR processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze AR aging reports to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and GAAP standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide training for the AR team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable management.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, Shopify, Walmart, Amazon, and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
