About the position
The Activities Assistant at Barton House is responsible for enhancing the quality of life for residents with memory impairment through engaging individual and group activities. This part-time role requires creativity and a compassionate approach to support residents in all stages of cognitive decline, ensuring a joyful and fulfilling environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead individual and group programming for residents with memory impairment.
- Create and implement engaging activities tailored to the needs of residents.
- Monitor and document residents' participation and progress in activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Provide support and encouragement to residents during activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience providing activities for individuals with Alzheimer's or other dementia.
- CPR Certification.
- First Aid Certification.
- Experience in recreational therapy or related field.
