About the position
The Activities Assistant at Barton House is responsible for leading individual and group programming for residents with memory impairment, particularly those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. This part-time role focuses on bringing joy and engagement to the lives of residents through creative activities tailored to their cognitive needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead individual and group activities for residents with memory impairment.
- Develop and implement engaging programming that caters to various stages of cognitive decline.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents during activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall care experience for residents.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year experience providing activities for individuals with Alzheimer's or other dementia.
- Valid First Aid Certification.
