Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other NP PAs to provide high quality hospital-based care.
  • Care for a variety of clinically diverse and complex patients in a high acuity, dynamic and collaborative hospital setting.
  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients in the Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care Units (PCU).
  • Complete admissions and consultations and is responsible for cross-cover of patients.
  • Demonstrate leadership through involvement on committees and team projects, education, and research.
  • Actively seek to improve the practice through performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • One to three years of inpatient clinical experience required.
  • Hospital Internal Medicine experience preferred.
  • Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as an ACNP for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date.
  • DEA registration required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
  • Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
  • Strong computer skills in an Electronic Medical Record preferred.
