About The Position

The Acute Care Psychologist at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) will serve as both the Educational Site Director for the Clinical Psychology Program and as a Clinical Psychologist within the Ambulatory Bridge Clinic. This role focuses on providing rapid access to care for patients recently discharged from psychiatric services, aiming to reduce recidivism and support recovery through effective outpatient follow-up and treatment adherence. The position offers a unique opportunity to treat patients, supervise learners, and develop educational programs in acute care management.

Requirements

• Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) in Oregon.
• Experience supervising and training psychology students/residents.
• Experience in ambulatory and/or inpatient care with high-acuity populations.

• Success working in inter- and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supervising psychotherapy across disciplines, particularly in high-acuity settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care for patients within the Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), Inpatient (IP), and Ambulatory Bridge Clinic.
• Focus on assessment and reduction of suicide risk using evidence-based tools.
• Develop complex treatment plans and provide brief psychotherapeutic support.
• Collaborate with PES and IP services for post-hospital follow-up.
• Participate in therapeutic programming to diversify treatment modalities.
• Create and implement the clinical training program for psychology and psychiatry learners.
• Provide specialized mentorship and supervision to learners working with high-acuity populations.
