About the position

The Acute Revenue Integrity Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating charge capture initiatives to enhance revenue management and protection within the healthcare system. This position involves correcting coding or charging errors, collaborating with various departments to improve processes, and providing education on compliant charge capture practices. The analyst will work with a variety of claims and utilize technology to support revenue cycle integrity and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Review facility daily gross revenue reports for variances and collaborate with department directors/managers to address them.
  • Provide concurrent and retrospective charge reviews across facilities, identifying charge capture opportunities and suggesting improvements.
  • Monitor and resolve nThrive charge capture work queues to enhance charge capture and clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Integrity Senior Manager to develop standardized reporting templates for revenue integrity KPIs.
  • Analyze and quantify charge capture review results for reporting to departments and CFO.
  • Provide guidance and education to departments on compliant charge capture and charge reconciliation.
  • Educate departments on managing charge rejection logs to capture all charges and reduce late charges.
  • Coordinate requested CDM charge additions and deletions, partnering with relevant teams for performance improvement.
  • Research complex charging/billing issues and recommend process improvements for compliant charge capture.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Applied Health Sciences, Finance, or a health-related field.
  • 2-3 years of related work experience in a clinical, medical office, or acute care unit.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and regulatory agency requirements for coding and charging.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and communicate financial data related to charge capture.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, coding and billing software, Cerner, NextGen, and MS4.

Nice-to-haves

  • Coding credentials (e.g., CCA, CCEP, CCS, CCS-P, COC, CHC, CHFP, CPC, CRCM, RHIT) are preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
